NATURE


Bukovyna is a land with unique nature. It’s gifted with steep rocks and green alpine meadows, large and small rivers, dense forests and wide prairies, lots of flora and fauna species. Chernivtsi oblast has 243 territories and items of the nature reserve fund including 7 wildlife sanctuaries, 8 natural monuments, botanical and dendrological park of Chernivtsi National University, Vyzhnytsya National Nature Park, Storozhynets denropark being nationally important, Chernivtsi regional landscape parks Cecino, Valya Kuzmina (a 250-300 year-old beech forest with a picturesque lake, plots with rare plants and mineral sources), as well as 136 nature monuments, 46 parks being monuments of garden art and 39 reserved stows of local importance.
